As far as I know, all the piston uppers, e.g. my Sig 516, require a standard recoil assembly in the lower, just like a DI upper. I wouldn't think you could run anything but an MCX upper on that lower.Rattler barrel will work in a Virtus upper. But you'll need the complete Rattler barrel & gas block assembly, and a Rattler bolt group & op rod, since the Rattler has a shorter op rod than a Virtus.
