May 7, 2023 · I chrono'd some 2014 CBC 5.56 77gr and some 2014 IMI 5.56 77gr as a comparison to the AAC 77gr OTM. The CBC 5.56 77gr was doing an average of 2873fps out of the Krieger, previous testing of the same lot of 2014 CBC 77gr from a FN CHF 20" 5.56 chamber was an average of 2752fps.
There are reports of their 77gr OTM (in house bullets) showing high pressure signs/popped primers. They know of the dented case issues but continue to ship ammo without having implemented their fix. My shooting is typically done at 2k altitude and 70 degrees plus temps. Eventually Id like to reload and figure a hot loading would do better with a 1 in 9 twist. Buffalo bore 77 gr loads are getting 2850 out of a 20 inch barrel for example. I fired 2 boxes of 77 gr otm rounds at 100 yards and accuracy was about 2.5 moa.The AAC 75 bthp match was just over half an moa. The 77 OTM was easily 1/2 moa or less. It's extremely accurate. I didn't notice any large velocity differences between shots and had at least two duplicates on each string. Temp 85, elevation 1300, 12% humidity. 18" larue stealth, 78 yards 75 BTHP AVG 2742 77 OTM AVG 271877gr AAC 26” Bolt gun, 5 shot and 10 shot group. There was a bit of mirage after the first 5 shots when shooting the 10 shot group, and shot 8 is the one to the left that opened things up a bit. Overall, not bad for as quick as I was shooting (<4 minutes for all 15shots). I fired the 10x group first, then the second 5x group.
