There are so many builds it's hard to say. General rule of thumb is to go Zeus/Dioynsus for fast attacks, Artemis/Aphrodite/Athena for higher base damage attacks, and Ares doom for something in between. So Zeus might be useful for attack (especially if you get the Flurry Jab hammer) and Ares/Zeus for the special.

I always find that runs where I get the hammer upgrades that boost the spin attack work best. Especially the quick charge on the Hades aspect, or Guan yu. You can build this with many different God boons, but big +% damage buffs on attack really shine.
