I did take the back off to see if the hinge assembly was broken, but the affixing points seem just fine. It looks like one of the hinges itself has skipped a gear of sorts internally. However after taking the back off, the each hinge itself looks like it's one big assembly and basically held under the display, so it would be difficult to replace.
