Our "rebrand" JD1050 has been a real peach, No major issues since '87. It's sure enough a rebrand as it looks exactly like it's yanmar equal except for paint and emblems. I'd expected the 990 to be the same as it's a near 100% yanmar. Sounds like the clutch was mis-adjusted right out the gate.
