I will also install a globe front sight with interchangable posts. In addition I own several Marlin 1894's, 1895's and 336's and they are. Three 1894 .357 pre-safety models.I have a 1957 39A with the letter "P" (early 1957) in the serial number, plainly struck and not a partial "R" (late 1957). I don't see it on your list but did find it over at the Marlin Firearms Collector Association site. On their list compared to yours between 1957 and 1964 there are several lettered differences as noted.The "Golden" was added as the gold plated trigger was also added to the 39-A line of guns in 1957. Marlin stopped using the term in 1964, but was re-instated in 1972. The gold plated triggers were discontinued in 1982, but to was re-instated in 1985.
