There is an SCA issued by GM for your Acadia. They'll repair it for no charge to you if your vehicle meets the criteria.

The wiring stays in place because the harness is tied to data from the parking sensors, among other possibilities. Remove the SBZA modules (one on each side in the lower quarter panel behind the rear wheel) and protect the connectors from weather. Turn off the SBZA system in vehicle personalization.

Hi Pearl. I have a 2015 Chevy Suburban. It started with a message to service the side detection system. Followed by flashing side detaction at random times. Now the push button start will not work. Push it at least 5 times, all the lights come on the steering wheel locks and then sometimes it starts.
