Sig talk p365.
I have a P365, born 5/16/18, which makes a noticeably dull thud sound when dry fired. This sound was mentioned previously by fedupmech on his 5/24/18 SigTalk post "Finally got to hold a P365" and by ShootAlot44 in his 5/30/18 post "P365 - What we know". The dull thud sound was thought to be the sign of a new P365 deficiency.

Right out of the box I tested the trigger reset and noticed the slide will not rack while I have the trigger held. I've never heard of such a thing.Here is a $2500 Sig P365X I built, includes match fit Barsto barrel, custom FCU, +P all day, one inch groups at 25 yards. I am a retired FFL/SOT gunsmith and made this BUG myself for myself. Once you have the P365 FCU anything is feasible. There is evidence that Sig has made "rolling" changes to improve the P365. Most "return to battery", "dead trigger", and barrel peening issues seem to have been minimized greatly.. What hasn't gone away is issues …The minmum size of the P365 isn't determined by the size of the cartridge it uses. It's determined by the power of that cartridge. Since the 30 is just a little less powerful than 9mm the guns for it could only be a little smaller. A 380 cartridge isn't much smaller than a 9mm cartridge.P365. To load the 4th round, I, however, had to push the round (using a speed loader) much harder down. Every Sig Sauer ever made has the date of manufacture on the box, you cannot miss it.1 - first, figure out what shooting fundamentals work for you - grip and stance among them (you have to be balanced and comfortable). Shoot more to settle those in as the foundation of everything else. As previously stated. Any firearm can fail. But that being said, I have had zero issues with my P365’s. Or for that matter, zero issues with any of my Sigs. P365, P320, P220, P225, P226, P229. Zero! Admittedly, I don't have the high round counts through them that some do. Maybe I am overdue. But I am pretty anal about maintenance.
Seriously, Kahr recommends a 200 round break-in. Sig has been known to say 350 to 500 rounds. The P365 is a small, tight tolerance 9mm. It does need to mate the parts together for smooth and reliable operation. I would use good quality 124gr or 147gr ammo for the break-in.
P365 had 1 failure to return to battery in the first 25 rounds. Glock 19 had no failures. I was honestly expecting an obvious difference in performance due to the size difference but the results were pretty close. ...
