Pfeiffer is a somewhat "hidden" beach in the Big Sur area. The turn off isn't well marked and it is a bit of a long crazy drive from CA-1. That being said, it is a state park and it's well appointed with paved lots and camping style hole in the ground toilets when you get there. The park is open to day use visitors from 8 a.m. to sunset. The entrance station opens at 8:00 a.m. and closing times vary. When the entrance station is closed, visitors are required to pay camping and day use fees by following the self-registration instructions. Speed Limit. Anyway, we got to Pfeiffer Beach, and made the sharp right turn coming from the north, only to find the parking lot full. So, we had to back track to the Big Sur park, where a bus took us down.
