The Urban Neighborhoods (shaded orange) lie within the Louisville city boundary that predated the city-county merger – an area often referred to as "The Urban Services District". Urban Neighborhood names and boundaries are based on a federal urban neighborhood mapping grant from the late 1970's. Many of these boundaries are still used for grants.
