Depends on the major, STEM go SJSU, non STEM do SDSU. San Diego is more fun, prettier, etc. but San Jose has insane stem job opportunities. SJSU for Engineering & CS (except BME, I think SDSU has better biology depts). SDSU for everything else. I went to SDSU my freshman year and transferred to SJSU.

SJSU is a great school and if the cost of living is your main deciding factor, SJSU might be a good choice since you live close.
