Took it to the Ford dealer where I bought it and they replaced the torgue converter. Luckily it was covered by the 60K drive train warranty. The give away for me at least was the tacometer, watch the RPMs when it starts to shudder you will see the tac jump up and down by about 200 RPMs. Thats the lockup in the converter starting to slip.I had a similar problem with my 2018 Escape - while accelerating I would hear a shutter and when I turn I would hear the same shutter.
