Hey guys i recently bought an 09 duramax that was wrecked up in the rear. i got it and couldnt get to to start. long story short the crank is broken in it. Fully built LLY, a couple dozen hooks on it, about 40-50,000mi on it daily driving (plenty of hammering on it), light towing/nothing over 8,000lbs. After tear down, noticed stress cracks around the bowls of the pistons (no surprise there). When it goes into reduced engine, the ECM turns off the injector on the cylinder that is knocking, and it goes away.
