Dell XPS 13 9370 flashing orange light. My barely new (bought in July) Dell XPS 13 9370 laptop cannot start just on battery power, I must plug in adapter for it to turn on then orange light keeps constantly flashing. It worked perfectly good few hours ago. So I cecked BIOS and battery there is at 82% full IDLE status. Power adapter showing 45W.

A flashing power light means the computer is getting power but some component is faulty. Try removing all your ram sticks, cards and disconnect the power going to all your drives. Unplug the computer and press and hold the power button for 10~15 secs. Plug it back in. Listen to hear if the fans spin up briefly.Select the correct form factor to access the correct manual of computer. If the power button LED is blue and diagnostic indicator# 3 flashes, a possible processor failure has occurred. Though processor is not a customer replaceable unit, you may try to reseat the processor using the instructions from service manual.
If that doesn't help: Power PC off and unplug, and press/hold power button for ~15 sec. Remove motherboard battery and press/hold power button for ~30 sec. Reinstall battery and boot PC. Monitor for that blink code again. If that also doesn't help, you should contact Dell Tech Support for assistance. JOcean.

I went to battery settings and battery health is running normally.

Hi Julian, If the battery meter says that battery is performing normally and you are still getting blinking orange, battery replacement will help isolate the issue. Battery life depends on the usage of the system on battery. Battery life is normally of 2 years.

It is blue for a few seconds then flashes orange several times then goes back to blue. The Led lights on the battery show all green when I check the battery. The monitor shows 85% available and charging. Allow one minute for the power to drain. Plug the computer into a working electrical outlet and press the power button. Blinking: A possible system board, power supply, or peripheral failure has occurred. Power off computer, leaving the computer plugged in. Press and hold the power supply test button on the rear of the power supply unit.The last two days I have had problems starting my XPS 8900.
