Not sure how popular this opinion is, but as someone who just started playing Gloomhaven, I really appreciate the alternate builds. Honestly, nothing against the creator of the original Cragheart guide, as I'm sure it suits a lot of players, but the alt build is much more interesting to me (just my opinion) than another ranged build.This build is meant to control the battlefield to funnel enemies so they can get smacked in melee in a more controlled manner. This is the build that I played and the one that this Summoner guide focuses on. I played my Summoner in a 4 player Gloomhaven group that already had a tank, a melee damage dealer and a crowd controller. Started out ranged, then became heavily obstacle focused, and ended up being a melee character. Creating obstacles for true damage and then pushing enemys into one with heaving swing, while destroying another adjacent for +3 made for some pretty high DPS. Ignore negative item effects (wearing armor) Add two Wind rolling modifiers (to help generate elements for Spellweaver) Add one +2 Muddle. Replace one -1 with +1 (twice) Add two Earth rolling modifiers. I'm one check away from another perk and will probably take Remove four +0 cards. Cragheart - The Cragheart just really does not synergize at all with the Brute. The Cragheart can easily hurt melee allies and makes it harder for melee allies to move around the battlefield with his obstacles.
