Ruger security 9 slide stuck.

Watched a couple vids with the owner simply pushing the back of the slide with their thumb. Just pulled brand new gun out of box to disassemble, clean, and lube. Pulled slide to rear and locked in open position. Rotated the take down lever until it stopped. Pulled the slide rearward to drop slide stop and allowed it to move slowly forward. As the title states: an LCP max, the slide is stuck, cannot rack the pistol. Has not been fired, magazine is removed, no round in the chamber. Trying to rack the slide it goes back a tiny amount then is blocked by something, cannot rack no matter how much force apply backwards. Any input would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.

Sat down with my new LC9 to look her over. That inclued pullig the slide back and engaging the hold. After I was done looking around inside, I pulled the slide back to release the hold and it did not retract. Just now as I sit down to write this, I popped the magazine out, tried it, and the slide retracted back home. What's the theory behind this?

My Security 9 has had four FTEs across approximately 310 rounds since new. The first two were classic stovepipes and easily cleared.
