Telesto has it's uses but not in most of the raid. I play nightstalker. With skyburner annex, telesto, and the right perk loadout, I make it rain orbs. They are everywhere. Supers all the time. But for this to work at it's best, you need to be multikilling with telesto, and you need packs of enemies, There just aren't many of these in KF.

But depending on the content, lots of void shields, void burn, using telesto makes things a lot easier since you can spray and return to cover as it detonates and it makes orbs like crazy. Great for taking out adds and even good for survivability on bosses. To conclude, I believe that yes Telesto is the best Exotic Fusion Rifle in Destiny 2. Merciless doesn’t beat it and it really does set itself out from the other Fusion Rifles with it’s Exotic Perk. Telesto is great for groups of enemies while Merciless is better for enemies with large health pools. At least, that is what it seems like between the two. Merciless is "bugged" and does less damage with every consecutive shot on the same target. Telesto is way better for overall usage.
Salvagers salvo is a good non exotic alternative to telesto. I personally have been enjoying dead mans tale with vorpal.
