Just purchased a 2011 STS Luxury. I have a couple of issues with my key fob. I believe that the car may have been part of a rental fleet. (1) Neither key fob is numbered. (2) Can't seem to program either fob for driver #1 or #2. (3) Can't use remote start feature. Lights flash, indicating that remote start is initiated, but engine doesn't crank.

The key fobs are very finicky. Take it apart and use a pencil eraser to clean the two tiny prongs that make contact with the fob battery. They may need slight bending for good contact with the battery. Also IIRC there are two small rectangular copper pads that need to be cleaned also. Reassemble with a new battery.
