Frankly, the A2 sight was designed as an accomodation to a pre-existing receiver configuration. Hence, the ability to use a big hidden vertical shaft. Now, to install the A2 sight on a FAL receiver, you would have to cut a hole in the lower receiver to allow the large supporting shaft to run up and down.
