The Estoc's description says "and its strong attack can even inflict damage upon foes hiding behind shields." It is not presented in the usual way: "Effect: Strong attack pierces shields". I'm uncertain if this is even true or if it only applies to it's 1h strong attack or 2h strong attack.Whenever someone invades me, I, for the most part, cheese them mercilessly with but a few simple light stabs from Estoc. It's absolutely insane how much damage it does, in both PvE and PvP, and I've yet to fight anyone else who uses it. edit: Also, Ricard's has a tiny bit more AR on a dex build, Estoc is better on a quality build. Estoc have better base dmg, Richard have better moveset, Velkas have better INT scaling (but not buffable). I recommend you to use both, a buffed Richard weapon is very usefull for bosses. Get BSS.

This is probably a dumb question, but have any of the patch notes ever addressed the whole OP estoc issue? Haven't played in a few months and I'm curious if From ever did anything about this. I think all they did was slow down the spam a tiny bit. Still OP. You'd be surprised how much that actually nerfed the weapon.

For main hand I think the others are better. Estoc looks silly but is undoubtedly better than the rapier. Uses the same amount of stamina per swing but does more damage and has the range of a spear, so it's basically a straight up upgrade.
