The slide would work, but I wouldn't recommend using a .40 barrel in a 9mm slide because the breach faces are different sizes. I've used a 9mm barrel in a 96 slide before and had zero issues. But the .40 won't fit the breach face on a 92 slide. The 92 slide isn't designed to withstand the forces created by the cartridge. Thanks.
