Just like mentioned above. Remove the stator connector and use your digital volt-ohm meter to test between the 3 wires. Set your DVOM on AC volts and probe 2 of the 3 wires with engine running at idle. Suspect that the CDI module (stator) is bad and service manual says to replace it with a known "good" module. This module costs about $250 and I hate to order one with out knowing for sure that the CDI is my problem.
