Just use the "come" emote to a scav a.i and they will follow you (if they accept your order/offer). They may also fight hostile player scavs and pmcs alike. The extract points are typically the same for a given spawn. Play the same route repeatedly to learn where the boxes are, and where scavs spawn. One key reason Scav runs feel easier is that the AI scavs don't attack you. As PMC you're truly you against everyone. As scav it's you against PMCs and other player scavs.
Knee pads and arm bands aren't found on scavs. Tricked out weapons, big bags and big armor vests are usually indicicative of a PMC. I find most all PMCs will be wearing some type of face covering so if they're not it's a pretty good assumption they're a scav. When in doubt as a scav hit F1 then shoot if no response.
Its really hard telling player scavs and pmc apart. Some say to look at pants/boots but some pmc clothes have very scav-like pants/shoes. Best bet is the short sleeve tshirts.
